ILSC Education Group, Inc. – the parent organization of ILSC Language Schools – and Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), a public post-secondary institution with campuses throughout Metro Vancouver, have signed a Joint Pathway Partnership agreement (JPP). This partnership provides international students with a streamlined pathway to complete English language training followed by higher education in Canada under a single study permit.
The partnership is part of a national initiative led by Languages Canada, which builds on a pilot program first launched in Ontario and now expanded across the country. The Joint Pathway Partnership model is designed to strengthen collaboration between accredited private language schools and public post-secondary institutions, creating more integrated and student-centered pathways that align with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) policies.
According to Vinnie Nobre, Vice-President, Canadian Operations, “We are proud to formalize our first Joint Pathway Partnership with Kwantlen Polytechnic University - an institution that already plays a key role within our University Pathway ecosystem. This agreement represents a natural evolution of a trusted relationship grounded in strong student outcomes and a shared commitment to applied, career-aligned education.
KPU’s emphasis on hands-on learning and industry relevance complements ILSC’s academic preparation model, enabling us to offer international students a more cohesive and strategically aligned journey - from language acquisition through to post-secondary success.”
Through this partnership, students can begin their English studies at any ILSC Language Schools campus in Canada, including Vancouver, Toronto, and Montréal, before progressing to KPU for further language preparation and direct entry into a post-secondary program. Students will study at one of KPU’s campuses across the Metro Vancouver region, including Surrey, Richmond, Langley, and Cloverdale. Known for its applied, hands-on approach to education, KPU delivers programs designed to align with real-world career opportunities in areas such as business, design, technology, and health.
Zainab Al-koubaisi, Interim AVP International at Kwantlen Polytechnic University added, “We are pleased to partner with ILSC Education Group to create a strong and supportive pathway for students, helping them transition successfully into their academic programs at KPU.”
The Joint Pathway Partnership represents an important step forward in enhancing international student pathways in Canada. By integrating language education with post-secondary study under a unified framework, the initiative supports a smoother transition for students while strengthening Canada’s position as a leading destination for international education.
