Students to benefit from inspiring National Geographic Learning content and interactive Spark tools at ELS in November 2025 and at ILSC in January 2026

ILSC Education Group and ELS Language Centers are excited to announce the adoption and expansion of National Geographic Learning materials, bringing inspiring new content and interactive digital tools into classrooms across both organizations.

At ELS, a renewed agreement introduces updated English language textbooks with fresh covers and engaging new elements, alongside expanded access to the Spark digital platform, beginning from November 2025. Chris Wallett, Director of Academic Affairs at ELS shared, "we’re thrilled to renew our agreement with National Geographic Learning to continue to use their superb materials in our programs. We’ve seen how the NGL stories, images, and themes engage students in meaningful ways, motivating them to learn and preparing them with the skills they need to succeed academically, professionally, and personally.”

At ILSC, students will engage with National Geographic Learning materials for the first time. Launching in January 2026, National Geographic Learning textbooks and the Spark digital platform will become core components of the English Foundation, English Communication, and English for Academic Purposes programs.
Key Benefits for Students and Teachers

  • Dual Access for on-campus students: Students will receive both a physical textbook and access to the digital Spark platform, allowing them to move easily between printed materials and online practice and engage with interactive resources that support every learning preference.
  • Enhanced Support: Spark provides instructors with tools to monitor student progress and effort, making it easier to identify where extra support may be needed.
  • Interactive Learning: Digital books feature integrated video, audio, and interactive activities.
  • Mobile-Friendly: Spark’s clean interface allows students to learn anywhere, anytime.
  • Global Inspiration: National Geographic Learning Explorers’ stories and photography connect language learning to real-world people and places.

With this new introduction of National Geographic Learning resources at ILSC, Cheryl House, Global Language Curriculum Director highlighted, “at ILSC, we’re committed to providing students with inspiring, real-world learning experiences. Our collaboration with National Geographic Learning brings authentic, globally relevant content into the classroom, helping students build not just language skills, but also a deeper understanding of the world around them.”

By incorporating National Geographic Learning resources with Spark’s digital innovation, both ILSC and ELS are reinforcing their commitment to providing engaging, flexible, and student-centered learning experiences.
